Day-Care Center Oxford-Quartier, Münster
InformationXWhat once stood as Oxford barracks, is now being transformed into a thriving kindergarten. Vertical wooden slats stretch across the two-story building, and behind these facades emerge a welcoming space for play and movement for up to 85 children. As part of a larger urban district project in Münster, this BFA competition entry is planned for the new building of the 5-group Kindergarten facility. Inside of the bar-shaped building structure, spacious rooms are arranged to gently open up to the lush garden. The entrance area merges into a multifunctional, open, free space room and the upper floor is edged with a spacious walkway. Vertical as well as horizontal viewing points in the interior enhance the feeling of space and ensure a playful atmosphere.
