Otto-Grotewohl-Ring, Straußberg
InformationXIn Strausberg, conveniently located where the city segues into an established “Plattenbau” (apartment buildings made from prefabricated cement-slabs) housing estate, BFA has planned two point block (Punkthäuser) buildings with a total of thirty-six apartments. The bright, five-storey stone building blocks are designed in a similar style to the neighbouring buildings. A pedestrian promenade, inviting both recreation and relaxation, auspiciously lies between the two houses. With two to three rooms, the apartments are rather modest, but are designed to receive maximum exposure to sunlight. Generous interior stairways create an open feel, while bolstering chance encounters for communication and connection.
